Is OEI Language School a trustworthy school?
OEI Language School opened in March 2004 and has a history of approximately 15 years.
We have the Department of Education (Tesda) permit (NTR-0704A010682) and the Immigration Department permit (AAFSNO, AFF-060174) to legally operate a language school in the Philippines, and as an official educational institution that can issue its own SSP, we have the basic conditions for students to focus on studying English with peace of mind.
How do you manage the safety of students at the academy?
For safety within the academy, stable learning is possible within the academy through the cooperative care of guards dispatched by a 24-hour security company and teachers and staff. In case of an emergency, there are large (La Salle University Hospital), medium (Tagaytay Hospital), and small hospitals nearby, so there are no problems with the health and safety of students.
What about the students' meals?
The language school's vice-principal, along with Filipino chefs and associate cooks, have years of experience preparing meals for Korean youth, and are doing their best to ensure that the students' studies are not disrupted by Korean and Western food, based on the menu manual.
How are group placements done?
Basically, the level is determined and groups are formed through a meeting between teachers following a level test (which takes about 2-3 days).
Based on experience, it is common to organize classes by grade level, but if the level is too high or too low, 1:1 class organization is also possible, and overall, I think 1:2-3 is the most ideal.
Group adjustments are sometimes made during study sessions to ensure effective learning.
How do you spend your evenings after regular tutoring?
Our language school strives to provide the highest quality learning possible.
During the self-study time starting at 6:30, we now have a memorization study time to organize and store in our heads the comprehension-oriented learning we have done in the morning for 4 hours until 10:30. However, we have individual memorization and application times according to the schedule, such as memorizing idioms, memorizing grammar mechanisms, and sentence writing training through writing.
How do you manage other subjects like math?
To be honest, you can't study other subjects like math like you can in Korea. Since students come here to solve the biggest problem, English, the emphasis is on English for a while. Even so, if you neglect other subjects like math, you may have problems moving up to a higher grade after returning to your home country.
Therefore, from a management perspective, the principal and other Korean teachers check and manage each student's study volume so that they can return home with prior knowledge of subjects such as math, and manage it so that they do not have difficulties teaching at school after returning to their home country.
How is laundry done?
It's done like in Korea. In Korea, parents take care of the clothes, but here, the laundry ladies called Atte take care of it.
Used clothing is collected from each room every morning, washed, and then stored in each person's locker in the afternoon.
Because you will be handling a lot of clothing during your training period, each student will be given a number, and the number will be written on the clothing label for easy identification.
How do you use your computer and mobile phone?
In principle, the use of all electronic devices other than electronic dictionaries is prohibited.
Concentration is important for studying, but using a cell phone or electronic devices after arriving will not help you adjust at all, and it will interfere with your studies because you will not be able to concentrate. If you bring them, our language school will store them and return them to you when you return home.
How do you keep in touch with your children?
Detailed information on how to make a call is provided in the notice on the Internet homepage.
We will inform you of the children's activities through the OEI Language Institute Naver Band. For urgent matters, you can contact us using the contact information listed on our homepage.
How is the room layout?
We assign rooms according to the children's emotions, learning status, and situations. If the roommates are too close or do not fit together, the learning atmosphere may not be established. In such cases, the rooms need to be rearranged. Also, if the grades are different, the lower grades may feel uncomfortable, so we try to assign rooms to the same grades as much as possible.
Do I need to prepare some over-the-counter medications?
Please prepare. During the winter training period, the mornings and evenings here in the Philippines are chilly, and the evenings are like early fall in Korea. In Silang, where we are, the cold wind blows from the valley of the golf course, so if your immune system is weakened, you may catch a cold. That's why you need a cold medicine, and since you're using up a lot of brain power, you may have indigestion and headaches, so you'll need digestive medicine and headache medicine. Also, since you're using up a lot of energy, you can send nutritional supplements and health supplements to increase your stamina.
